Nazaneen Hayat
Nazaneen is a native of Philadelphia, Pa. and is a graduate of Temple University where she received her degree in Management Information Systems. Upon completion of her degree, she decided to work in her field before pursuing graduate school. Her job search landed her in Washington, DC as an IT Analyst at N.A.D.A. Her close connection to her Persian roots led her to be active in event planning while an undergraduate student. Nazaneen was the director of the Philadelphia Persian Society for 5 years which planned and organized events include ding social, cultural, and charitable, for the tri-state area in hopes of promoting a new generation of Persian-American cooperation and awareness. When she arrived in the DC area, she attended a Shabeh Jomeh event and saw it as the next place to continue supporting the growth of the Iranian American community. She joined the Shabeh Jomeh team in 2007.
Roya Soleimani
Roya grew up in northern California and is an Alumna of the University of California, Berkeley where she received her B.A. in Political Science and Public Policy. When she arrived at Berkeley, she was delighted to find such a vibrant Iranian American community. She served on the editorial board for Perspective Magazine, UC Berkeley's official Iranian student publication, and later went on to become Editor-in-Chief of the publication for two years. She continues to serve as a senior adviser to the magazine and looks forward to helping the publication expand regionally and nationally. Roya has served both as a performer and Master of Ceremonies for UC Berkeley's annual Norouz Show, and has been a guest on Iranican, an online television program for young Iranian Americans. Roya is currently working as the Events Manager at the UC Washington Center in downtown DC where she manages all events, seminars, conferences, and fellowships of the Center.
Pouya Yousefi
Pouya Yousefi spends his days as the Lead Developer for DigitalDME; a medical software start-up in McLean and his night's as a DC social entrepreneur. His social consulting, marketing, and event planning company DCPYRO has been hosting and promoting events in the DC Metro area for over 12 years. DCPYRO asks, "Where do you want to go tonight? You tell us what you want... We'll handle the rest!" Pouya joined the Shabeh Jomeh team in 2010.
