Shaya was born in Abadan, Iran. After finishing her BA in Graphic Design in Tehran University, Shaya moved to UK in 1992 to pursue her long-term passion in other areas of Art. Following her Masters degree in Fashion Studies at Leicester's De Montfort University, Shaya moved back to London to further her career. After working with several companies, she started ‘Shaya’ retail stores as a result of collaboration with a number of friends and colleagues in 1997. She was then appointed the creative director responsible for buying and merchandising and later on production, which branched out to wholesale. Shaya enjoys swimming and cycling and loves to travel. Shaya is extremely keen to promote networking among Iranians and has brought energy and excitement to the London Shabeh Jomeh!
