Asal Mirsalimi was born in Iran. She moved to United States in 2006, and currently resides in Seattle. She is a Certified Public Accountant and specializes in tax planning and preparation for individuals, business, and Trusts & Estates. She has expertise in taxation for various industries, such as Real Estate, Professional Services, Family offices, and Hospitality. She is a member of the AICPA. She has worked in local accounting firms in New York and Los Angeles, and currently is a Senior Tax Associate at Peterson Sullivan LLP in downtown Seattle. She has her B.A. in Accounting, and M.S. in Taxation from University at Albany (SUNY Albany).
Asal has been a member of the New York chapter of Shabeh Jomeh since 2008. After a year of living in Seattle, she was determined to restart the Seattle chapter of Shabeh Jomeh to share the benefits of this organization with fellow Iranian residents of the Greater Seattle Area.
Outside of her professional obligations, Asal loves hiking, paddle boarding, and majority of other outdoor activities. She has a passion for cooking and trying new cuisines. She is also actively involved in various other non-profit organizations such as Junior Achievement and Big Brother Big sister.
Farhad Ghassemi was born and raised in Iran. He currently works at Amazon where he applies statistical and machine learning techniques to ensure all transactions on Amazon, and affiliated websites, are secure and trusted.
Farhad attended Allameh Helli High School for talented students in Iran. He holds a B.Sc. from Sharif University of Technology and a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. from University of British Columbia.
As part of the Seattle Shabeh Jomeh Chapter, he is delighted to bring the Iranian professional community in this city together.
