SKIATHON
Event date:Feb 17, 2005
Razi Foundation is a network of volunteer physicians based in greater New York area with a goal of providing help and medical assistance to members of the Iranian community in need of such services.
What we did: During the ski season of 2004-2005 Shabeh Jomeh did a SKIATHON in conjunction with the Razi Health Foundation. We raised a tremendous total of $15,000, all of which was donated to our sponsored charity, Razi Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. We couldn’t have done it without our Skiers, Skier sponsors, cash donors, prize donors, committee members and volunteers. Everyone’s support helped make this fundraising event a tremendous accomplishment for our community, a testament to what we can accomplish if we leverage the Shabeh Jomeh network. Statistics: Volunteers: 11 individuals volunteered to organize the SKIATHON Skiers: 33 skiers participated (17 Chicago, 15 NY/NJ, 1 LA) Skier Sponsors: 147 people sponsored our skiers from 16 different U.S. states, as well as Canada and Switzerland Cash Donors: 7 individuals donated cash (including Daniel Ahmadizadeh, who donated his hard-earned baby sitting money) Prize Donors: 13 companies donated prizes totaling $7,765
